Negosyo sa Baryo is more than a livelihood program. It is a movement of hope, empowerment, and opportunity for OFWTMPC members and their families.

We believe that meaningful progress begins in the barangay - where small dreams, when given the right support, can grow into stable businesses, stronger families, and more resilient communities.

Through Negosyo sa Baryo, OFWTMPC supports qualified members who are ready to begin or grow a small business. The program provides access to goods an supplies from the OFWTMPC Grocery. practical entrepreneurship and financial-literacy training, and member friendly repayment arrangements.

What is Negosyo sa Baryo?

Negosyo sa Baryo is OFWTMPC's flagship livelihood and entrepreneurship program designed to help members start and manage small community-based businesses.

It aims to:

  • Provide qualified members with business goods and supplies from the OFWTMPC Grocery

  • Support the cooperative's shared economy by ensuring that program-funded products are purchased through the OFWTMPC Grocery

  • Required financial-literacy and entrepreneurship training so members are better prepared to manage their capital, sales, expenses, savings, and repayment.

  • Offer flexible and member-friendly repayment terms, subject to the cooperative's approval program guidelines.

  • Encourage sustainable income, self-reliance, responsible borrowing, and bayanihan among members and communities.

  • Help members transform practical business ideas into stable livelihoods opportunities.

    Affordable, member-friendly support

    Unlike may traditional lending options, the program is designed to help members grow responsibly. Repayment terms are structured to be manageable and aligned with the cooperative's approval policies.

    Training before capital

    Participants receive financial- literacy and entrepreneurship training before starting their negosyo. Training may include budgeting, costing, pricing, inventory management, recording keeping, customer services, savings and responsible repayment.

    Goods from your cooperative

    Business goods and supplies are sourced through the OFWTMPC Grocery. This allows members to access needed products while also strengthening the cooperative's grocery enterprise and shared member economy.

    Guidelines and mentorship

    Members can learn from cooperative leaders, trainers, and fellow entrepreneurs who understand the realities of starting small and growing step by step.

    Stronger families and barangays

    Every successful member enterprise can create a positive ripple effect: more income for the family, greater confidence for the entrepreneur, and a more active local economy for the community.

    Who can apply?

    Negosyo sa Baryo is open to members who meet the cooperative's qualification requirements including:

  • Active OFWTMPC membership in good standing

  • Willingness to attend and complete required financial-literacy and entrepreneurship training.

  • Submission of a simple business proposal or feasibility study.

  • Readiness to operate the proposed business responsibly and comply with repayment and program guidelines.

  • Genuine interest in building a sustainable livelihood for themselves and their families.

What kinds of business may qualify?

Subject to program evaluation and approval, possible negosyo ideas may include:

  • Sari-sari stores and mini grocery outlets

  • Cooked-food, snack, or beverage ventures

  • Frozen-food or ready -to-cook product reselling

  • Household essentials and personal-care product retailing

  • School-supply, loading, printing, or small community services

  • Home based retail or online selling, where the product line is available through the OFWTMPC Grocery

  • Other practical, community-based enterprise with a clear market and feasible repayment plan.
